Google has Taken Down 8 Fraudulent Apps from the Play Store

These fraudulent apps have now been recognized by Google and removed from the Play Store. These spoof apps were providing significant returns on investments in cloud mining operations.

Google has now deleted up to eight fraudulent apps from the Play Store that were misrepresenting themselves as cryptocurrency cloud mining programs. BitFunds, Bitcoin Miner, Bitcoin, Bitcoin (BTC), and others are among the names.

Cryptocurrency mining is attracting a lot of attention these days, and with that attention comes a lot of nasty eyes. This implies that these hackers are taking advantage of the growing public interest in cryptocurrency to dupe unsuspecting internet users into installing bogus apps on their smartphones that contain deadly malware and adware.

The most significant benefit is that Google has finally detected and deleted these fraudulent apps from the Play Store. These spoof apps were providing significant returns on investments in cloud mining operations.

According to security firm Trend Micro, these malicious apps were deceiving users into watching advertisements, paying for membership services with an average monthly charge of $15 (about Rs 1,115), and paying for greater mining capabilities without receiving anything in return.
